The School

St. Angela's Academy was a Catholic residential high school with an enrolment of some eighty girls who wished to take their academic education within the context of a Christian community. The Ursuline Sisters and Lay People who staffed the Academy responded to their mission of "educating for life" by fostering the harmonious development of the spiritual, intellectual , aesthetic and physical endowments of each student. Together, the Staff and Students at St. Angela's responded to the call to worship God and to help build the Reign of Justice and Peace in the world.
The school's academic standards were high, and the girls were challenged to reach achievement levels that reflected their best in terms of ability, attitude, and effort. Because students took an active part in learning, they experienced the satisfaction of successful achievement.
Given opportunities to meet these challenges, to make decisions, and to take responsibility, the girls learned to use their own resources as well as those provided by the School to gain self-confidence, to assume leadership, and to acquire the lasting value of personal discipline.
A warm, family spirit characterized the School, one where a Christian education was received in a Catholic environment.
